Reports are coming in that heavy rainfall on Wednesday has damaged some Lincoln County roads.
The southbound lane of Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson between Swift Lane and Forest Glenn Drive is washed out in two places causing the tar to collapse, according to an employee of The Lincoln County News.
East Pond Road in Nobleboro is flooded in the “usual place,” on the curve near the intersection with Rt. 1, according to reports.
Two spots on the Mills Rd. near Rt. 215 in Newcastle are also flooded, according to reports.
The National Weather Service warns motorists not to drive through flooded roads or standing water as damage underwater, such as a completely washed out road surface, cannot be seen by the driver. Moving water may also sweep vehicles away.
