Cainin Griffin is an eighth grader in the Wiscasset Middle School.
Two days before Thanksgiving, Griffin was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Leukemia, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. After several months of intensive chemotherapy at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, Griffin went into remission in mid-January, impressing his doctors with his rapid response to treatment. But he still has a long road ahead of him, but his prognosis is excellent.
Griffin can usually be found with a basketball in his hands, even at the BBCH.
Griffin has played for the Wiscasset Middle School Warriors and the AAU team “Maine Flash.”
He even went out to shoot hoops during his breaks from treatment. He is looking forward to play with the Wiscasset High School next year and would love to play for the Celtics, his favorite team.
The donations, by Wiscasset Ford (up to $1000) will go to the Cainin Griffin Fund.
