Although not as devastating as the recent windstorm, high winds are once again blasting through Lincoln County, resulting in power outages. There were 1,812 power outages reported in Lincoln County as of the 1:17 p.m. report on Friday from Central Maine Power Co.
Most of the towns in Lincoln County are affected by the outages, according to CMP, with Jefferson hardest-hit, with 864 customers out. There were no estimated restoration times for any of the outage locations, except for Glidden Street in Newcastle, which was showing a CMP restoration estimate of 11:30 a.m. Friday while still listed as an outage at 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Sustained northwest winds in the 15- to 25-mph range with gusts up to 40 were forecast by the National Weather Service. These winds are expected to taper off in the evening hours. A high wind advisory issued by the weather service is in effect until 8 p.m.
