An accident that claimed the life of one man and injured two others in the early morning of May 11 is still under investigation, according to Wiscasset Police Chief Troy Cline.
Dane Bonang, 27, of Wiscasset, was operating a pickup on Westport Bridge Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree, Cline said.
One of the passengers, Michael Snyder, 26, of Bath, got out of the vehicle and called his sister, Mary Snyder, for help, Cline said. Mary Snyder called in the accident at 2:59 a.m., he said.
Bonang was deceased by the time officers arrived on scene, and the second passenger, Hannah Malloy, 16, of Wiscasset, had to be extricated from the back seat of the truck, Cline said.
Bath Police Department is doing the reconstruction of the accident but it is not yet complete, Cline said.
Cline said he was unable to release further details about the accident as the department is still investigating.
