Dr. Douglas and Kristen (Schleicher) Applegate are pleased to announce the birth of their first child. Jakob Ansel Applegate was born in Bonn, Germany, Aug. 15, weighing 7 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 20 inches long.
Kristen is employed by the United Nations and Douglas is an astrophysicist at the Argelander Institute of Astronomy.
The proud grandparents are John and Nancy Schleicher, of Damariscotta, and Richard and Lisa Applegate, of Monroe, Conn.
