Three individuals were transported to the hospital following a head-on collision at the junction of Routes 17 and 32 in Jefferson on Monday evening, Nov. 23.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy 1st Class Brian Collamore, the collision occurred when a Ford sedan driven by Eve O’Brien, of Augusta, who was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 32 from Route 17, was struck head-on by a BMW sedan driven by Nancy Hosmer, of Camden, who was traveling east on Route 17.
Collamore said O’Brien and a passenger in the Ford, April Ablog, were transported to Maine General Medical Center in Augusta as a precaution.
Collamore said Hosmer was up moving around following the crash but, after describing left-side pain, was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
According to Collamore, speed did not appear to play a factor in the collision, but he said darkness and the congestion on Route 17 during the evening commute probably were factors.
Lincoln County Communications paged Jefferson Fire and Rescue, in addition to the Waldoboro Ambulance Service, around 4:45 p.m.
