The latest addition to the Farrin Properties sales team is a familiar face to many in Lincoln County.
Jason Simonds, 51, of Jefferson, a businessman and entrepreneur, began his real estate career March 23.
Simonds’ previous ventures include, most recently, the highly visible but short-lived Wicked Good Taxi. He founded Computer Connection in 1993 and was a partner in Midcoast Internet Solutions.
Simonds will put his unique skill set, including his knowledge of technology and the internet, to work at Farrin Properties, through the company’s website (http://farrinproperties.mainelistings.com) as well as his own (http://www.jasonsimonds.com).
A penchant for real estate runs in Simonds’ family. “My mother was a real estate agent in the ’70s,” Simonds said. His mother, Joan Simonds, was a partner in Simonds and Allen, a Damariscotta agency dating to the mid-to-late 1970s.
Simonds believes he inherited his mother’s savvy for the business. “I have a lot of her gift of gab, a lot of her people skills,” he said.
Simonds attended training and received his license as a sales agent through the Maine Real Estate Commission last month.
“I think that my intimate knowledge of the Lincoln County area will be a benefit for the people I’m working with,” Simonds, a native of Damariscotta, said. “I think [Farrin Properties] is a good match.”
According to an agency press release, owner Wayne Farrin, “is pleased to be able to partner with” Simonds. The agency “is excited about the coming summer season and the return of our summer residents and visitors,” whom it invites to visit the office and welcome its newest addition.
