Judy Colby has regained a seat on the Wiscasset Board of Selectmen. With 289 votes, the former selectman won the race for the seat vacated by Bill Barnes by a nearly 2-to-1 margin. Contender Roland Abbott received 142 votes and David Flynn received 109 votes.
Abbott and Colby were on hand to hear the winner announced following the close of polls at the Wiscasset Community Center Tuesday, Nov. 3. Abbott congratulated Colby upon hearing the results. “She did a great job before and she’ll do a great job again,” he said.
Colby said she was happy to have won and thanked all the residents that turned out to vote. “What’s best for the people (of Wiscasset) will always be first,” she said.
Colby will serve the remainder of Bill Barnes’ term on the board. Barnes resigned in August. The seat will once again be up for election in June.
