A 17-year-old male juvenile has been arrested on three felony charges following an investigation by the Wiscasset Police Department and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division.
The juvenile, arrested on Friday, March 27, was charged with burglary of a residence, a class B felony; burglary of a garage, a class C felony; and theft by unauthorized taking, a class C felony, according to a Wiscasset Police Department press release.
The juvenile was transferred to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland after his arrest. According to the press release, the juvenile was on probation for a prior burglary conviction.
According to the press release, Wiscasset School Resource officer Perry Hatch was notified March 4 and 10 of burglaries at a Chewonki Neck Road home. The complaintant suspected a juvenile shoveling snow on her property committed the burglaries, according to the press release.
Hatch requested assistance from LCSO’s Criminal Investigation Division, which set up surveillance equipment on the property, according to the press release. The equipment allegedly recorded video and still images of the juvenile in the woman’s garage on March 26.
The juvenile was arrested at his home Friday, March 27. A search of the juvenile’s house resulted in the recovery of some of the stolen items, according to the press release.
