Kieve-Wavus recently welcomed John Schlosser as business manager with 28 years experience in financial, administration and operations positions.
Beginning in public accounting and progressing through several challenging positions with the Hertz Corporation, Schlosser was able to draw on his experiences to help run one of Maine’s Top 100 companies, Fabian Oil Inc. as their vice president and controller.
Schlosser said that he “is very excited about the opportunity to bring the experience and skills honed at a family owned local Maine company to this Nobleboro based non-profit offering so many incredible programs for youth and adults.”
Schlosser holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Scranton and serves as a member on the Rome Planning Board.
He also serves as road commissioner on his local road association and has served as director, vice president, and president for the association.
He is a volunteer with the Belgrade Regional Conservation Alliance, which conserves the lands, water quality and natural heritage of the Belgrade Lakes watershed.
Patrick Lydon of Pemaquid has served as the business manager for Kieve and Kieve-Wavus for the past 10 years. Lydon has lead the organization through multiple building projects on both the Kieve and Wavus campuses and will be retiring and spending a little more time with his wife Stella, their children and grandchildren and his continuing responsibilities with local non-profit organizations.
Executive Director Henry Kennedy said, “It has been great having Pat at the financial helm of Kieve-Wavus through the enormous facility and program growth we have experienced. We wish Pat the best and welcome John into our family.”
Programs offered by Kieve-Wavus Education Inc. include: the summer programs of Kieve Camp for Boys and Wavus Camp for Girls, which serve youth from Maine and around the world; KW-West, a co-ed wilderness hiking and kayaking program in the Pacific Northwest; an Alumni and Family Camp; a 9/11 Family Camp for families from New York and Washington, D.C. who were affected by the 9/11 tragedy; and a Veterans Camp for veterans to reconnect with their families, loved ones and communities.
