Meeting July 3, the Lincoln County Commissioners approved the request from Two Bridges Regional Jail for the first monthly payment of $201,891.92 for the 2012-13 fiscal year.
According to Lincoln County administrator John O’Connell, the request is “preliminary because neither the Board of Corrections nor the jail authority have approved next year’s budget.” The fiscal year began on July 1.
The commissioners also gave the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office permission to dispose of three old vehicles that had been confiscated and impounded for six years. Sheriff Brackett said that, according to county policy, his office will seek bids from various junk yards.
Among other business, the commissioners approved a $700 expense to purchase gravel to repair a washed out road in the Hibberts Gore.
The commissioners received a report from Tod Hartung, the Interim EMA/911 Director. The EMA has received 3606 more calls for the same period last year, or 19,634 up from 16,028. Since last report to the commissioners two weeks ago, the EMA/911 Call Center received 1801 calls.
The commissioners’ next meeting is July 17.
