The Lincoln County News recently welcomed Sarah Caton to the advertising department as ad secretary.
Caton started in the position on July 6, taking the reins from Joyce Gill, who recently retired after many years with The Lincoln County News.
Caton’s first exposure to the industry began when she was 12 years old when she delivered newspapers. She holds a degree in library science from the University of Maine at Augusta.
Caton said she was drawn to the position at LCN due to her love of words and proofreading.
“I like words and I like to read, so I thought this would be a good fit,” Caton said.
Caton’s responsibilities include taking work orders, proofreading the ads, and making sure the ads are placed in the newspaper.
“There’s a lot to this job, but it keeps it interesting,” Caton said.
In her spare time, Caton enjoys reading and runs All Paws Pet Sitting, an Alna-based pet-sitting business. Caton and her 9-year-old cat, Kismet, live in Alna.
To contact Caton, email ads@lcnme.com, call The Lincoln County News at 563-3171, or stop by the office at 116 Mills Road in Newcastle.
