Snow Plowing Bids
The Town of Alna is accepting bids for a snow removal and sanding contract for up to fi ve (5) years. Contract will be effective beginning this winter, October 2014 through April of 2019. The Town of Alna will supply the sand and salt. Total Mileage is 29 miles.
Bids must be in writing, in an envelope marked “Town of Alna Snow Removal and Sanding Bid” and can be delivered to the Town Office or mailed to Town of Alna 1568 Alna Road, Alna ME 04535 by 6pm on August 6th 2014.

MAINE WASTE DISCHARGE LICENSE / MAINE POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM PERMIT APPLICATION
Please take note that, pursuant to 38 MRSA, Sections 413 and 414-A, Gosnold Arms, Inc. of New Harbor intends to file a wastewater discharge permit application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). The application is for the discharge of 3,000 gals of secondary treated waters to the New Harbor in Bristol, Maine. The application will be filed on or about 08/15/14 and will be available for public inspection at DEP’s Augusta office during normal business hours. A copy may also be seen at the municipal offices in Bristol.
A request for a public hearing or request that the Board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction over this application must be received by the DEP, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is found acceptable for processing, or 30 days from the date of this notice, whichever is longer. Requests shall state the nature of the issue(s) to be raised. Unless otherwise provided by law, a hearing is discretionary and may be held if the Commissioner or the Board finds significant public interest or there is conflicting technical information.
During the time specified above, persons wishing to receive copies of draft permits and supporting documents, when available, may request them from DEP. Persons receiving a draft permit shall have 30 days in which to submit comments or to request a public hearing on the draft.

In addition, persons attending will have an opportunity to make a brief statement regarding the project or the financing. Comments are specifically requested on those criteria set forth in 10 MRSA §1043(2), including public benefit and whether the Project could result in a substantial detriment to existing business. Persons planning to attend the hearing or to make a statement at the hearing are requested to notify the Authority in writing no later than August 6, 2014.
Persons wishing to make written comments are requested to provide the written comments to the Authority before the hearing. Written comments will also be accepted at the hearing.
