It is anticipated that bids will be considered at the meeting of the Board of Select-men at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. The Selectmen reserve the right to reject any or all bids.
Full payment for awarded bids shall be made to the Town no later than July 18, 2014. The Town will issue quitclaim deeds and shall not be responsible for any condition of the property or any personal property that may be present.

The Wiscasset Water District gives notice to the public that on June 18, 2014, at 6:00 pm at the Wiscasset Water District meeting room, 65 Birch Point Road, Wiscasset, Maine, a public hearing will be held to discuss and hear comments on a proposed rate increase.
Total revenues will increase by $87,877.14 (17.5%) to $590,432.29. Metered revenues will increase by $64,139.56 or 18.56%. Public fire protection revenues, determined pursuant to Chapter 69 of the Public Utilities Commission Rules, will increase by $23,737.58 or 18.09%. The rate increase is a result of rising operating and non-operating costs. The last rate increase was in 2011. Rates are to become effective on August 1, 2014.
Pursuant to 35-A MRSA Section (6104), a customer has the right to request additional information relating to the present and proposed rates from the Utility, the right to an open and fair hearing, and the right to assistance from the Public Advocate. Customers also have the right under 35-A MRSA Section (6104) to petition the Maine Public Utilities Commission to suspend and investigate the Utility’s rates pursuant to 35-A MRSA Section 310, if, on or before July 18, 2014 (within 30 days of the public hearing date), 115 of the Utility’s customers (15% of customers or 1000 customers, whichever is less) file with the District’s Treasurer, Wiscasset, Maine and with the Public Utilities Commission, c/o Administrative Director, State House Station #18, Augusta, Maine 04333-0018, a petition or petitions demanding review by the PUC of the proposed rate changes. Signatures on the petition filed pursuant to Section 7 are invalid unless accompanied by the printed names and addresses of the signers. Upon request the District will provide customers with petition forms that include space for the signatures and the printed names and the addresses of the signers.
A copy of material supporting the proposed rate changes will be available at the Wiscasset Town Office and the Wiscasset Water District office for inspection on and after May 15, 2014.
