Please join MaineDOT at a formal public meeting to discuss the future culvert replacement located at Little Falls Brook on the Harrington Road in Bristol.
Representatives of the Maine Department of Transportation will be present on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. to listen to concerns, receive comments, and answer questions from anyone with an interest in the project. The Department would like to get input on the timing of the construction season, traffic maintenance and the potential for a temporary road closure. Anyone with an interest is invited to attend and participate in the meeting.
Accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities. Auxiliary aids will be provided upon advance request.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF WISCASSET
The Town of Wiscasset will hold a public hearing on the following referendum question on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Wiscasset Middle School beginning at 6 p.m.:
“Shall the School Committee of the Town of Wiscasset be authorized to close the Wiscasset Primary School?”
The additional cost of keeping the school open has been estimated by the School Committee to be $785,524.
The referendum question will be voted on in a Special Town Meeting Election on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Westport Island
Public Notice
Availability of Commercial Shellfish License
The Town of Westport Island will be issuing (1) Commercial Shellfish license for the remainder of the 2014-2015 Shellfish Season that began on May 1, 2014. Licensing will follow the process contained in Section 5 of the Town of Westport Island Shellfish Conservation Ordinance.
The applicant for license must produce two pieces of acceptable identification showing current residence address. The Applications for all shellfish licenses are available at the Town Office and can be obtained from the Town Clerk during normal office hours. The Westport Island Town Office is open from Noon to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursdays. For questions, call 882-8477 ext. 3.
A Commercial Harvester License Credit program has been created to establish priority in issuing commercial licenses. Details of this credit program are available at the Town Office. The Fee for this Resident/Non-Resident Commercial Shellfish License for the remainder of this season is $150.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE
Please take notice that Crooker Construction LLC, 103 Lewiston Rd., P.O. Box 5001, Topsham, ME 04086 (207-729-3331) is intending to file a Site Location of Development Act permit application pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S.A. §§ 481-490 with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection on or about November 24, 2014.
The application is for mining at our Whitefield/Alna pit that was previously operated by Harry C. Crooker & Sons, Inc. at the following location: Whitefield, Maine/Alna, Maine.
A request for a public hearing or a request that the Board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction over this application must be received by the Department, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is found by the Department to be complete and is accepted for processing. A public hearing may or may not be held at the discretion of the Commissioner or Board of Environmental Protection. Public comment on the application will be accepted throughout the processing of the application.
For Federally licensed, permitted, or funded activities in the Coastal Zone, review of this application shall also constitute the State’s consistency review in accordance with the Maine Coastal Program pursuant to Section 307 of the federal Coastal Zone Management Act, 16 U.S.C. §1456.
The application will be filed for public inspection at the Department of Environmental Protection’s office in Portland during normal working hours. A copy of the application may also be seen at the municipal offices in Whitefield and Alna, Maine.
