TOWN OF WISCASSET
The Town of Wiscasset will hold a public hearing on the following referendum question on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Wiscasset Middle School beginning at 6 p.m.:
“Shall the School Committee of the Town of Wiscasset be authorized to close the Wiscasset Primary School?”
The additional cost of keeping the school open has been estimated by the School Committee to be $785,524.
The referendum question will be voted on in a Special Town Meeting Election on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

AQUACULTURE LEASE RENEWAL
The Commissioner is considering an application to renew for ten years to December 27, 2024 a 2 – acre lease, DAM HI, located south of Hog Island, Damariscotta River, Damariscotta, held by Dodge Cove Marine Farm, LLC for the purposes of cultivating American/eastern oysters, European oysters, surf/hen clams, and bay scallops using suspended culture techniques.
The lessee would be bound by the terms and conditions of the existing lease. A public hearing is not required unless requested by five (5) or more interested persons. Written comments or requests for a hearing, including a statement of the reasons for the request, must be submitted on or before December 1, 2014 to the address below.
