The Lincoln Academy girls’ swim team placed seventh at the State Class B championships at the University of Maine Orono Saturday. Four girls placed in two events each and placed in both freestyle relays. “For four girls to come in seventh is just fantasic. I am so proud of them,” Coach Don Strout commented.
Kara Mullin medalled in the 200IM and 500 free taking fourth in both. Heidi Ziegra medalled in two events, taking sixth in the 100 fly and 8th in the 200 free. Valeska Vaughn medalled in the 50 free with a sixth place finish and brought home a ribbon in the 100 free taking 16th. Gretchen Konitzky placed 15th in the 100 free and 16th in the 100 back. The same four girls collected the Bronze medal in the 200 free relay, and medalled in the 400 free relay, taking fifth.
