Lincoln Academy Head of School Jay Pinkerton will serve one more academic year in the position before he resigns, he said July 9.
Pinkerton’s last day will be June 30, 2013.
Pinkerton said his 17 years as a member of the Lincoln Academy administration “is a long time these days” and his resignation was something he’d been “thinking about for a while.”
“I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but I’ll figure it out,” he said.
He referred questions about who would replace him or whether the Lincoln Academy board of trustees would conduct a search for a replacement to Todd Savage, the president of the board.
Savage did not immediately return a message.
Pinkerton, of New Harbor, started his Lincoln Academy career in 1996 as the associate head of school. The trustees named him head of school in November 2006.
