Lincoln County Election Results

June 12 primary elections, in addition to establishing the Democrat and Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate, determined the ballot for six state legislative races.

Rep. Les Fossel (R-Alna), will face Sen. Chris Johnson (D-Somerville) in the District 20 Senate race.

Alan “Buzz” Pinkham (R-Damariscotta), and Ellen Winchenbach (R-Waldoboro), were victorious in their respective primary races.

At press time, RSU 12 and Waldoboro election results are currently being tabulated.

District 20 SenateLes Fossel beat Stuart Smith for the District 20 Republican primary, 1789-1102. Chris Johnson, the democratic candidate, ran unopposed in the primary, and had 1136 votes.

Fossel and Johnson will face off in November.

District 50 HouseDemocratic candidate Joel Pitcher will run against Republican Ellen Winchenbach, who beat Henry Simmons 506 to 310 for the Republican primary. District 50 is comprised of: Waldoboro, Bremen, Nobleboro and parts of Jefferson.

District 51 HouseDemocratic candidate Michael Devin ran unopposed and will be running against Republican candidate Alan Pinkham, who beat Jessica Chubbuck, 547 to 164. District 51 is comprised of: Newcastle, Damariscotta, Edgecomb, Bristol, South Bristol and Monhegan.

District 52 HouseBoth Republican and Democratic candidates ran unopposed in the primaries. Republican Deborah Sanderson will be running against Elizabeth Miller. District 52 is comprised of: Somerville, Washington, parts of Jefferson, Whitefield and Chelsea.

District 53 HouseRepublican Raymond Soule will be running against Democratic candidate Timothy Marks. District 53 is comprised of: Dresden, Alna, Pittston and Wiscasset.

District 61 HouseBruce A. MacDonald ran uncontested for the Democratic Primary candidate, and Stephanie Hawke ran unopposed for the Republican primary. District 61 is comprised of: Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Westport Island, Southport, Arrowsic and Georgetown.

Lincoln County Commissioner, District 3Republican and incumbent Sheridan Bond will be running against Democratic candidate Mary Trescot, both of whom ran unopposed in the primary.

U.S. SenateThe Democratic primary winner in Lincoln County was Cynthia Dill with 824 votes, outrunning her three competitors handily, with Matthew Dunlap gaining 470 votes, Jon Hinck 203, and Justin Pollard 123.

Lincoln County chose Charles Summers Jr. as the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate having 1048 votes, outrunning Bruce Poliquin (970), Richard Bennett (368), William Schneider (270), Scott D. Amboise (240) and Debra Plowman (112).

U.S. House First DistrictChellie Pingree ran unopposed for the Democratic primary, and had 1194 votes. Of the two Republican candidates, Patrick Calder won by 22 votes over Jonathan Courtney (1195 to 1173).
