Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Feb. 25, Deputy Matthew Day responded to a report of a burglary in the Nobleboro area. The complainant stated that someone(s) broke into his residence and some collectable items and a five gallon bucket of change had been taken. No money value on the items taken was available. Further investigation to follow.
On Feb. 25, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a burglary in the Jefferson area. The complainant stated that someone(s) had broken into their residence and numerous jewelry items valued at approximately $7000 dollars, a Panasonic digital video camera valued at approximately $356.87 dollars, a Lumix TZ4 digital camera valued at approximately $200 dollars and other miscellaneous items were stolen. Further investigation to follow.
Feb. 25, Sarah Violette, 25, of Fairfield was issued two summonses, one for illegal possession of a useable amount of marijuana and one for illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, on Mills Rd., Newcastle, by Deputy Henry Grenier.
Feb. 26, Mathew C. Tedford, 18, of Edgecomb was issued a uniform summons and complaint for operating a defective motor vehicle, on Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor, by Sgt. Jason Nein.
On Feb. 28, Deputy Henry Grenier took a report of a burglary at the Duck Puddle Campground in Nobleboro. The complainant stated that someone(s) broke into the store and a Brother printer worth approximately $100 dollars and a set of golf clubs w/bag, valued at approximately $1400 dollars were taken. Further investigation to follow.
Feb. 27, David W. Seiders, 39, Newcastle was arrested on an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines and fees, on Lynch Rd., Newcastle, by Deputy Todd Chilton.
Feb. 27, Brian J. Bennett, 28, of Jefferson was arrested for domestic violence assault, obstructing report of a crime and violating condition of release, on Rockland Rd., Jefferson, by Deputy Matthew Day.
On Feb. 25, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Edgecomb involving Mark W. Barter, 48, of Boothbay and George E. Freeman, 86, of Boothbay Harbor. Barter was stopped on Rt. 27 at the Rt. 1 intersection, waiting to make a left turn. Freeman, who was traveling behind the Barter vehicle, failed to see the Barter vehicle stopped and struck it in the rear. Barter’s 2000 Jeep utility vehicle sustained an estimated $850 in damage and Freeman’s 1999 Lexus utility vehicle sustained an estimated $350 in damage. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
On March 1, an accident occurred on Back River Rd. in Boothbay involving David B. Chapman, 62, of Boothbay and John E. Harworth, 56, of Edgecomb. Chapman was making a left turn out of a driveway and did not observe the Harworth vehicle. Chapman pulled out in front of the Harworth and as a result, Harworth was unable to avoid striking Chapman’s vehicle. Chapman’s 2000 Subaru station wagon sustained an estimated $2100 in damage and Harworth’s 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck sustained an estimated $1700 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
On March 1, an accident occurred on Biscay Rd. in Bremen involving Daniel MacCready, 18, of South Bristol. MacCready was traveling east on Biscay Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle due to the road conditions and as a result, ran off the road and struck a tree. MacCready’s 1993 Jeep utility vehicle sustained an estimated $3000 in damage. Deputy Todd Chilton was the investigating officer.
