Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
July 30, Deputy Mark Bridgham took a report of a theft in the Boothbay area, of a Sears 2500 pressure washer with a 25 foot hose and a 25 foot black extension hose. Total estimated value is $300. The items were last seen on July 24. Further investigation to follow if any leads develop.
Aug. 2, Deputy Brian Collamore responded to a report of criminal mischief to a boat and dock, located off the Vannah Rd., in Nobleboro. The damage is estimated at approximately $1200 for a canvas boat cover, windshield brace and a vinyl engine cover. Further investigation to follow as any new leads or information comes forth.
Aug. 4, Daniel L. Peaslee, 29, of Dresden was issued a summons for operating vehicle without license, on Gardiner Rd., Dresden, by Major Ken Mason.
July 29, Heather A. King, 25, of Dresden was arrested for violating condition of release, on Calls Hill Rd., Dresden, by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
July 30, Patricia K. Horstman, 43, of Boothbay was arrested for operating under the influence, on Hendricks Hill Rd., Southport Island, by Deputy Todd Chilton.
July 30, Bruce A. Holt Jr., 23, of Bremen was arrested for violating condition of release, at the Lincoln County Courthouse, Wiscasset, by Deputy Peter Kenyon.
July 30, Andrew J. Hind, 29, of Boothbay was arrested for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and reckless conduct, on West Side Rd., Boothbay, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
July 30, Leo P. Evans, III, 21, of Oberlin, Ohio was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Glidden St., Newcastle, by Deputy Todd Chilton.
Aug. 1, Michael Andretta, 18, of Wiscasset was arrested for operating beyond license restriction, on Hodge St., Wiscasset, by Det. Sgt. Kenneth Hatch.
Aug. 2, Kyle Closson, 41, of Southport Island was arrested for operating under the influence, on Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay, by Sgt. Jason Nein.
Aug. 2, Thomas A. Bellas, 58, of Lisbon was arrested for operating under the influence, on Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor, by Deputy Henry Grenier.
On July 30, an accident occurred on West Side Rd. in Boothbay involving Andrew J. Hind, 29, of Boothbay. Hind was traveling on West Side Rd. when he drifted off the roadway and struck a ledge with the front passengers side tire. The vehicle then returned to the roadway and crossed into the northbound lane, where it came to final rest. Hind’s 2001 Ford sustained an estimated $2500 in damage. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On July 30, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Newcastle involving Nikolas A. Poland, 18, of New Harbor. Poland was coming off the Main Street off ramp when he accelerated rapidly to get in front of traffic, causing the rear of the vehicle to spin around. As a result, the vehicle went off the road and struck a ledge. Mr. Poland’s 1995 Ford pickup truck sustained an estimated $4000 in damage. Deputy Henry Grenier was the investigating officer.
On July 31, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Rd. in Boothbay involving Christopher M. Greenleaf, 36, of Richmond and Abigail B. Seiders, 28, of Wiscasset. Seiders was stopped to make a left turn onto Hardwick Rd. Greenleaf stated he was on his phone and then dropped it. When Greenleaf reached down to retrieve it and looked back up, Seiders was stopped in the roadway. He attempted to stop, however was unable to, striking the rear of Seiders’ vehicle. Greenleaf’s 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck sustained an estimated $7000 in damage and Seiders’ 2008 Ford sustained an estimated $8000 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On July 31, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Rd. in Bristol involving Tara L. Pottle, 17, of Bristol. Pottle was traveling northbound when she lost control on the soft shoulder. She then over corrected, going into the southbound lane where another vehicle was coming at her. Pottle then over corrected again, leaving the roadway, causing her vehicle to roll over. Pottle’s 1996 Volkswagen sustained an estimated $4000 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On August 1, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Rd. in Boothbay involving Ernest W. Hopkins Jr., 51, of Gardiner and Jeffrey Funaro, 25, of Highland Mills, N.Y. Hopkins was backing from a parking spot at the East Boothbay Store. Funaro was making a left turn from Murray Hill Rd. into the store parking lot. Hopkins stated he didn’t see Funaro pulling in. Funaro stated he did see Hopkins backing up, however he got to point where he couldn’t back up and began honking his horn, with no luck in stopping Hopkins from hitting his vehicle. Hopkins’ 2007 Hummer utility vehicle sustained an estimated $500 in damage and Funaro’s 2007 Suzuki sustained an estimated $3000 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On August 2, an accident occurred on Boothbay Rd. in Edgecomb involving Cari-Lyn G. Lane, 33, of Old Orchard Beach. Lane was traveling northbound when she came upon traffic that was stopped. Lane applied her brakes and lost control of her vehicle, leaving the roadway. Lane’s 2002 Yamaha motorcycle sustained an estimated $6000 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On August 3, an accident occurred on Center Street in Nobleboro involving Judy A. Texas, 44, of Woolwich and Richard J. Isabel, 43, of Waldoboro. Texas was making a left turn onto Center St. and failed to yield to Isabel’s vehicle, which was traveling south. As a result, Isabel was unable to avoid striking Texas’ vehicle. Texas 1999 GMC truck sustained an estimated $250 in damage and Isabel’s 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle sustained an estimated $22,000 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
