Lincoln County Sheriff’s Report

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

Nov. 24, Deputy Peter Kenyon took a report of a burglary in the Dresden area. The complainant stated that when she arrived home at 3 p.m., she discovered someone had entered her home and took a jewelry box with approximately $1500 dollars worth of jewelry in it. Further investigation will follow as leads develop.

Nov. 24, Sgt. Daniel Sceviour and Lt. Michael Murphy investigated a report of a burglary in the South Bristol area. The complainant stated that sometime between 4 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 24, unknown person(s) gained entry to his residence and took multiple items. Some items included antique firearms and home electronics. Further investigation to follow.

Nov. 24, Det. Sgt. Kenneth Hatch investigated a report of a burglary in the Bristol area. The complainant stated that her home was entered and multiple items were taken. Hatch is awaiting a list of items stolen and further investigation to follow.

Nov. 25, Deputy Peter Kenyon took a report of a theft of a 1997 Ford F250 pickup truck in the Bristol area. The complainant stated that the company truck was taken sometime after 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 24. The truck is commonly driven by all employees and is described as green and silver in color, with a portable, white in color, diesel fuel tank in the bed. The approximate value is $7500 dollars.

Nov. 22, Sylas Hatch, 20, of Whitefield, producing an expired insurance card; inspection standard violation (faulty tire), Main St., Newcastle, Dep. Mark Bridgham.

Nov. 23, Daniel Peaslee, 29, of Dresden, failure to show proof of insurance, Middle Rd., Dresden, Dep. Justin Drake.

Nov. 24, Michael Kipp, 46, of Dresden, failure to show proof of insurance, Middle Rd., Dresden, Dep. Justin Drake.

Nov. 26, Justin P. Amoroso, of Gorham, operating with a suspended registration, Bath Rd., Wiscasset, Det. Sgt. Kenneth Hatch.

Nov. 28, John McDonald, 25, of Hingham, Mass., speeding 79 mph in a posted 55 mph speed zone, Rt. 1, Nobleboro, Sgt. Daniel Sceviour.

Nov. 28, Dale Scott, 33, of Webster, Mass., passenger not using a seatbelt, Rt. 130, Bristol, Dep. Kevin Dennison.

Nov. 28, Jacob Crosby, 23, of Edgecomb, failure to stop at a stop sign, Rt. 1, Newcastle, Dep. Kevin Dennison.

Nov. 29, Laura Cook, 61, of New Harbor, failure to show proof of insurance, Rt. 130, Bristol, Dep. Justin Drake.

Recent Traffic AccidentsOn Nov. 26, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Rd. in Boothbay involving Brandon S. Long, 25, of Brewster, Mass. and Steven P. Dutton, 51, of East Boothbay. Long was traveling southbound and Dutton was traveling northbound on Rt. 27. Long failed to see Dutton’s vehicle and began a left turn onto Hardwick Rd. Long entered the northbound travel lane in the path of Mr. Dutton. Dutton attempted to avoid Long’s vehicle by steering right and braking, but both vehicles collided. Long’s vehicle came to rest in the northbound shoulder/ditch and Dutton’s vehicle rotated clockwise and came to rest facing south in the northbound lane. Long’s 2006 Ford pickup truck sustained an estimated $4500 in damage and Dutton’s 2007 Toyota sustained an estimated $15,000 in damage. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 27, an accident occurred on Middle Rd. in Dresden involving Amber R. Toothaker, 22, of Richmond. Toothaker was traveling too fast for the road conditions and attempted to avoid a deer. As a result, her vehicle began skidding, spun 360 degrees, traveled off the road and struck a tree. Toothaker’s 2007 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $5500 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
