On Dec. 29, 2009, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Rd. in Bremen involving Jason W. Nash, 23, of Bremen. Nash was traveling too fast for the road conditions and as a result, he traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. Nash’s 1995 GMC pickup truck sustained an estimated $2700 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2009, an accident occurred on Barters Island Rd. in Boothbay involving Theresa I. Farmer, 42, of Boothbay Harbor. Farmer was traveling north when she was distracted by another vehicle. As a result, she lost control on the snow covered roadway, traveled off the road and struck a tree. Farmer’s 2000 GMC utility vehicle sustained an estimated $4200 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2009, an accident occurred on Rt. 130 in Bristol involving David C. Andres, 42, of Winthrop and Geoffrey G. Madden, 37, of New York, N.Y. Andres was traveling south on Bristol Rd. and Madden was traveling east on Rt. 129, attempting to stop at its intersection with Bristol Rd. Madden was unable to stop due to the road conditions and struck Andres’ vehicle as it traveled past. Andres’ 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck sustained an estimated $1500 in damage and Madden’s 2007 Volvo utility vehicle sustained an estimated $5000 in damage. Lt. On Dec. 31, 2009, an accident occurred on Rt. 129 in South Bristol involving Tamara J. Poland-Kaler, 35, of Bristol and Jennifer M. Wais, 42, of Walpole. Poland-Kaler and Wais were both traveling south. Poland-Kaler did not observe Wais slowing down for turkeys in the roadway and as a result, struck her vehicle, then struck a rock embankment. Poland-Kaler’s 2004 Jeep utility vehicle sustained an estimated $4500 in damage and Wais’ 2002 Subaru station wagon sustained an estimated $250 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2009, an accident occurred on Rt. 130 in Bristol involving Daniel R. Gilbert, 22, of Bristol. Gilbert was traveling eastbound and due to icy road conditions and unsafe speed for the road conditions, he slid off the roadway and struck a mailbox. Gilbert’s 2002 Toyota sustained an estimated $2800 in damage. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2009, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Rd. in Bristol involving James P. Bartlett, 50, of Bristol. Bartlett was traveling east when a deer ran into the roadway and he was unable to avoid striking it. Bartlett’s 1999 Subaru station wagon sustained an estimated $1500 in damage. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2009, an accident occurred on Pension Ridge Rd. in Boothbay involving Thomas Ducharme, 35, of Boothbay. Ducharme was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and eventually struck a ditch, causing his vehicle to roll onto its roof. Ducharme’s 2000 Mercury utility vehicle sustained an estimated $5000 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Rt. 129 in South Bristol involving Alexandria C. Orff, 20, of Washington. Orff was traveling northbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow/slush-covered roadway. Her vehicle rotated 180 degrees into the southbound travel lane before leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole support wire in the southbound ditch. Orff’s 2000 Pontiac sustained an estimated $2000 in damage. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Hendricks Hill Rd. on Southport Island involving Rachel M. Kelley, 27, of Boothbay Harbor. Kelley was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail. Kelley’s 1999 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $2000 in damage. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Alna Rd. in Alna involving Paul A. Kanavich, 61, of Newcastle. Kanavich was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered roadway and skidded off the road, striking several small trees. Kanavich’s 2001 Chrysler sustained an estimated $3000 in damage. Det. Sgt. Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Newcastle involving Thor L. Belle, 18, of Walpole. Belle was traveling too fast for the road conditions and as a result, he traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. Belle’s 1997 Toyota utility vehicle sustained an estimated $5600 in damage. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 1, an accident occurred on Hendricks Hill Rd. on Southport Island involving Anna R. Traver, 19, of Sarasota, Fla. and Inder S. Cheema, 72, of Southport. Traver was traveling northbound when she lost control on the snow covered roadway. As a result, she slid into the side of Cheema’s vehicle, which was traveling southbound and in his own lane. Traver’s 2005 Kia sustained an estimated $3250 in damage and Cheema’s 2000 Mercedes-Benz sustained an estimated $5021 in damage. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on Augusta Rd. in Jefferson involving Christopher La France, 33, of Jefferson. LaFrance was traveling south when he lost control of his vehicle due to speed and road conditions. As a result, he ran off the road, struck a ditch and rolled over. LaFrance’s 2004 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $5000 in damage. Deputy Todd Chilton was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on Beath Rd. in Boothbay involving Robert W. Morton, 17, of East Boothbay. Morton was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Morton’s 2001 Chevrolet utility vehicle sustained an estimated $2000 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on East Old County Rd. in Newcastle involving Bridgette S. Dimauro, 29, of Newcastle and Rebecca Rice, 18, of Nobleboro. Rice was traveling north when she slowed down and was rear-ended by Dimauro’s vehicle. Dimauro’s 2005 Jeep utility vehicle sustained an estimated $1500 in damage and Rice’s 2003 Saab sustained an estimated $1500 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on Townline Rd. in Boothbay involving William K. Burge, 42, of Boothbay. Burge was traveling eastbound and while going down a hill, he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered road. He then slid off the road and struck a tree. Burge’s 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck sustained an estimated $5021 in damage. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 2, an accident occurred on East Old County Rd. in Newcastle involving Casey T. Stevens, 28, of Newcastle and Bridgette S. Dimauro, 29, of Newcastle. Ms. Dimauro was stopped in reference to being in an earlier vehicle accident. Stevens’ came by to assist the subjects, however, he slid down the hill and struck the rear of Dimauro’s vehicle. Steven’s 1997 GMC utility vehicle sustained no damage and Dimauro’s 2005 Jeep utility vehicle sustained an estimated $1500 in damage. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, an accident occurred on Bristol Rd. in Bristol involving Jeremy Westhaver, 23, of Bristol and Sarah A. Oliver, 26, of Washington, D.C. Westhaver was traveling north and Oliver was traveling west on Old County Rd. Oliver was unable to stop at the intersection with Bristol Rd., due to the current road conditions. As a result, she entered the Bristol Rd. traveling west and was struck by Westhaver’s vehicle. Westhaver’s 1994 Ford pickup truck sustained an estimated $5000 in damage and Oliver’s 2004 Honda utility vehicle sustained an estimated $8000 in damage. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 4, an accident occurred on Bristol Rd. in Bristol involving Kenneth L. Jones, 63, of Pemaquid. Jones was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roadway when he attempted to accelerate up a hill. He then spun 180 degrees in the southbound lane before entering the southbound shoulder and rolling his vehicle onto it side. Jones’ 2004 Isuzu utility vehicle sustained an estimated $5000 in damage.
