Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On June 22, Marlin Swartentruber, 38, of Newcastle was issued a summons for improperly parked motor vehicle in Damariscotta Mills, Nobleboro by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
On June 23, Andrew Whiterell, 48, of Damariscotta was issued a summons for improperly parked motor vehicle in Damariscotta Mills, Nobleboro by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
On June 23, John Nelson, 23, of Jefferson was issued a summons for failure to obey a traffic control device on Rt. 1, Waldoboro by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
On June 26, Colby Oakes, 32, of Vinalhaven was issued a summons for speeding, 65 mph in a posted 55 mph speed zone on Rt. 1 Nobleboro by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
On June 29, Albert Morelli, 17, of Newcastle was issued a summons for imprudent speed on Academy Hill Rd., Newcastle by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
On July 3, Jolie Anne Shaw, 39, of Bremen was issued a summons for failure to display a valid inspection sticker on River Rd., Boothbay by Sergeant Jason Nein.
On June 30, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Boothbay was issued two summonses, one for criminal mischief and one for criminal trespass, after an incident in Edgecomb. He was summonsed by Deputy Mark Bridgham.
On July 1, Kathleen M. Stevens, 28, of Boothbay was arrested on a warrant out of Wiscasset District Court for the charge of failure to pay fine or fee, on Back River Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden and Deputy Matthew Day.
On June 30, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Brent K. Verney, 20, of Jefferson. Verney was traveling southbound when he felt his vehicle go onto the soft shoulder. He then jerked his steering wheel to the left, which caused him to lose control. As result, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Verney’s 1999 Ford sustained an estimated $2500 in damages. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On July 1, an accident occurred on Back River Road in Boothbay involving Kathleen M. Stevens, 28, of Boothbay. Stevens was traveling south when she stated that her cell phone fell onto the floor. She then was distracted by reaching for the phone and drove off the west side of the road and struck a telephone pole. Stevens’ 2001 Volvo sustained an estimated $7500 in damages. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On July 1, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Edgecomb involving Joyce B. Chagan, 21, of Boothbay Harbor and Ruth G. Estabrook, 44, of Boothbay Harbor. Estabrook was stopped in traffic on the Wiscasset Bridge. Chagan was distracted and did not see Estabrook’s vehicle stopped and as a result, she struck it in the rear. Chagan’s 2009 Toyota sustained an estimated $5400 in damages and Estabrook’s 2002 Ford utility vehicle sustained an estimated $1800 in damages. Deputy Peter Kenyon was the investigating officer.
On July 2, an accident occurred on Rt. 32 in Jefferson involving Jason McKenney, 37, of Damariscotta. McKenney was traveling south when he swerved off the road to avoid an on coming vehicle. His vehicle tipped over and slid on the pavement. The 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle sustained an estimated $3000 in damages.
