Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
Dec. 29, 2010, Darren A. Goodwin, 35, of Phippsburg was arrested for violating condition of release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Robert McFetridge.
Dec. 31, 2010, Nicholas A. Rideout, 27, of Whitefield was arrested on a warrant out of Lincoln County District Court for failure to pay fine on previous charges of operating under the influence and criminal mischief, on Bluegoose Lane, Whitefield, by Deputy Scott Hayden.
Dec. 31, 2010, Leo Barter, 39, of Boothbay was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Back River Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On Dec. 30, 2010, an accident occurred on Eddy Road in Edgecomb involving Samantha A. Knightly, 27, of South Paris. Knightly was traveling eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the sanded road surface and struck a utility pole. Knightly’s 1995 Ford sustained an estimated $5500 in damage. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2010, an accident occurred on Hillside Lane in Whitefield involving Melinda K. Kane, 53, of Alna. Kane was traveling westbound on Rt. 17 when she turned left onto Hillside Lane. Due to her tires being inadequate for the ice/snow covered road, she slid off the road and into a tree. Kane’s 2004 Saturn utility vehicle sustained an estimated $2500 in damage. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 31, 2010, an accident occurred on Back Meadow Road in Nobleboro involving Janice G. Wood, 66, of Bremen and Ryan J. Bremer, 21, of Damariscotta. Wood was traveling westbound, attempting to make a left turn into the Tidewater Telecom parking lot. Bremer was traveling eastbound, cresting a hill. Wood did not see Bremer’s vehicle and turned in front of him. As a result, Mr. Bremer could not stop and struck Wood’s vehicle on the passenger side. Wood’s 2009 Toyota sustained an estimated $8000 in damage and Bremer’s 1996 Honda sustained an estimated $1500 in damage. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, a reportable accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol involving Margaret K. Peacock, 82, of Bristol. Peacock was traveling westbound and the roads were icy in shaded areas. Peacock was traveling too fast for the road conditions and began to skid on the icy road. She skidded across the centerline, then back into the westbound lane. Her vehicle then left the road and struck an embankment, causing it to flip onto its side. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 3, a reportable accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Newcastle involving Wellesley Humason, 87, of Alna and Susan A. Minot, 54, of North Haven. Humason was entering Rt. 1 from Snead Spur and Minot was traveling southbound on Rt. 1. Humason failed to yield to Minot’s vehicle and as a result, struck it in the right rear. Sheriff Todd Brackett was the investigating officer.
