Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On March 30, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of burglary in the Bristol area. The complainant stated that sometime between March 12 and March 29, someone(s) entered his residence and stole numerous items. There are no suspects at this time and further investigation will follow if leads develop.
March 31, Martha L. Provencher, 32, of Dresden was issued a summons for operating motor vehicle in violation of license restriction (A), on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Major Ken Mason.
April 1, Tracy J. Rudge, 40, of Augusta was arrested for violating a protection order, on Gardiner Road, Dresden, by Deputy Scott Hayden and Sgt. Brendan Kane.
On April 1, an accident occurred on Rt. 130 in Bristol involving Meridith L. Hughes, 23, of Bristol. Hughes was operating her 2004 Suzuki northbound when she lost control while negotiating a right hand curve in the roadway. Her vehicle then crossed into the southbound travel lane and into the southbound ditch, where it rolled over one time, striking a tree stump and coming to rest facing south in the southbound ditch. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On April 1, an accident occurred on Back River Road in Boothbay involving Jennifer L. Sprague, 29, of Boothbay. Sprague was operating her 1997 Jeep southbound when she lost control on the snow-covered roadway. As a result, her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.
On April 1, an accident occurred on Main Street in Damariscotta involving Tyler J. Swett, 25, of Newcastle and Andrew S. Ridlon, 41, of Sabattus. Swett was following Ridlon west on Main Street, near Coastal Market Drive. Ridlon, who was operating a 2009 Int’l Harvester/Navistar tractor-trailer, lost traction going up a gradual hill on the snow/slush covered road and became stuck. Swett could not slow/stop his 1998 Ford Explorer and struck the trailer that Ridlon was hauling. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On April 1, an accident occurred on Eddy Road in Edgecomb involving Joshua Zehm, 46, of Edgecomb and Laurence G. Omland, 64, of Edgecomb. Omland was operating his 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck southbound and Zehm was operating his 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound. Omland lost traction on his vehicle on the extremely slippery and narrow roadway and crossed over into the northbound travel lane. As a result, Omland struck Zehm head on. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
