Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On June 13, Reserve Deputy Thomas Hoepner responded to a reported of an abandoned vehicle in the Jefferson area. When the homeowner got up in the morning, they noticed a silver Volvo station wagon had rolled into another car in their driveway. Deputy Hoepner located the owner and was advised that she had reported the car stolen from the night before. The keys were left in the vehicle and whoever took it drove it until it ran out of gas and then it was abandoned.
June 9, Corey A. Prock, II, 18, of Nobleboro was issued a summons for taking shellfish without a license, on Palmer Island, Bremen, by Deputy Brent Barter.
June 9, a 15-year-old juvenile from Bremen was issued a summons for taking shellfish without a license, on Bremen Long Island, Bremen, by Deputy Brent Barter.
June 10, Alexa Lamoureux, 21, of Wiscasset was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Scott Hayden.
June 10, Robert M. Seigars, 67, of Dresden was issued a summons for failing to stop for a police officer, on Cedar Grove Road, Dresden, by Major Ken Mason.
June 11, Steven M. Cherkis, 46, of Dresden was arrested on a probation violation, on Calls Hill Road, Dresden, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
June 11, David B. Cherkis, 42, of Dresden was arrested for violating condition of release, on Calls Hill Road, Dresden, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
June 8, Nathaniel Sandner, 21, of Newcastle, failure to show proof of insurance, Rt. 1, Newcastle, Sgt. Daniel Sceviour.
June 8, Judy Texas, 46, of Augusta, speeding 59 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone, Gardiner Rd., Dresden, Maj. Ken Mason.
June 8, Vickie L. Andrews, 23, of Boothbay Harbor, criminal speed 76 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone, Alna Road, Alna, Sgt. Jason Nein.
June 9, Robert Seigars, 67, of Dresden, improper left turn, Cedar Grove Rd., Dresden, Maj. Ken Mason.
On June 10, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Alexa Lamoureux, 21, of Wiscasset and Sueann Shiffer, 21, of Wiscasset. Lamoureux was operating her 2002 Chrysler Sebring southbound behind Shiffer’s 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. As both vehicles approached a construction zone, Shiffer slowed for traffic ahead and Lamoureux could not stop in time. Lamoureux swerved to avoid hitting Shiffer’s vehicle, but then struck the driver’s side rear. Lamoureux then left the scene but was later located. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On June 12, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Jefferson involving Lindsey Hayes, 23, of Jefferson. Hayes was operating her 2011 Volkswagen Jetta northbound when she swerved to the right to avoid a left turning vehicle. As a result, her vehicle left the roadway on the right and ran into a ditch. She then sideswiped a telephone pole on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Reserve Deputy Thomas Hoepner was the investigating officer.
