Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Jan. 25, Deputy Kevin Dennison responded to a report of a burglary in the Jefferson area. The complainant stated that someone(s) had entered her home and stole her Acer Aspire laptop computer – value $479. Further investigation to follow.
On Jan. 26, Deputy Justin Drake responded to a report of a burglary in the Southport Island area. The complainant stated that someone had entered his home and stole approximately $1000 from his safe. Further investigation to follow.
Jan. 27, Luman C. Barnard, III, 30, of Wiscasset was arrested on two active Kennebec County warrants, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Justin Drake.
Jan. 27, Ann N. Bacon, 59, of Rockland was arrested for violating condition of release, at the Lincoln County Courthouse, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy Michael Gustafson.
On Jan. 24, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Asher J. Huntington, 22, of Newcastle. Huntington was operating his 2001 Subaru Legacy southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway, rolling over one and a half times before coming to rest on the passenger side. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 27, an accident occurred on Thayer Road in Whitefield involving Seth A. McGee, 29, of West Gardiner. McGee, operating his 1989 two-axle plow truck, was plowing and sanding the Thayer Road, heading west down a hill during a snowstorm. His vehicle lost traction on the snowy road as it came down the hill and began skidding and crossed the centerline. His vehicle then spun sideways and left the road, striking some large boulders on the side of the road. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 27, an accident occurred on US Rt. 1 in Newcastle involving Ashley E. Williams, 22, of Woolwich. Williams was operating her 2006 Toyota Rav4 northbound when she entered the northbound shoulder and lost control of her vehicle in the slush covered roadway. As a result, her vehicle entered the northbound ditch before rolling over one time and coming to rest. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 27, an accident occurred on US Rt. 1 in Nobleboro involving Pamela J. Maus, 62, of Owls Head and Tammy J. Thorndike, 32, of Wiscasset. Maus was operating her 2006 Volkswagen Beetle southbound and Thorndike was operating her 1995 Ford Probe northbound. Thorndike crossed the centerline into the southbound lane and struck the Maus’ vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 27, an accident occurred on Upper Round Pond Road in Bristol involving Daniel Foster, 19, of Bristol. Foster was operating his 1998 Ford F-150 southbound when he drove off the roadway and struck a tree. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 28, an accident occurred on Country Club Road in Boothbay involving Kari W. Babcock, 43, of Boothbay. Babcock was operating her 2005 Ford Freestar eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle. As a result, her vehicle left the roadway, travelled on the banking and rolled onto its roof. Reserve Deputy Jennifer Sherman was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on Blinn Hill Road in Dresden involving Casey M. Harrison, 30, of Pittston. Harrison was operating her 2002 Subaru Outback west when she lost control of her vehicle on the slippery roadway and hit an embankment on the shoulder of the road. Deputy Brent Barter was the investigating officer.
