Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Sept. 26, Deputy Matthew Day took a report of a theft of a paddle boat (described as a tan paddle boat, seats five – brand name Aqua Toy, value: $500) in the Nobleboro area. Further investigation if leads develop.
On Sept. 27, Deputy Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of criminal mischief in the Whitefield area. The complainant stated that sometime within the last week or two, someone(s) had kicked in the front door to a residence, which is currently being foreclosed on. Further investigation if any leads come forth.
On Sept. 28, Deputy Kenneth Hatch responded to a report of criminal mischief to a business in the Whitefield area. The complainant stated that around 3:30 p.m., the telephones stopped working. Upon inspection, it was discovered the lines for the alarm system and phones had been cut. Further investigation to follow.
On Sept. 30, Sgt Brendan Kane, while on patrol, came upon some large rocks which were strewn in the driveway of a business in the Newcastle area. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a vehicle had failed to negotiate the turn in the road and struck a rock wall, causing the rocks to fall into the driveway. The vehicle that did this damage then left the scene. Further investigation to follow.
Sept. 29, Daniel S. McKechnie, 23, of Waldoboro was issued a summons for unlawful possession of scheduled drug, on Genthner Road, Waldoboro, by Det. Ronald Rollins.
Sept. 28, John B. Stevens, 63, of Wiscasset was arrested on an outstanding Wiscasset District Court warrant for a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
Sept. 29, Larry S. Arnold, 27, of Whitefield was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Main Street, Whitefield, by Reserve Deputy Jennifer Sherman, who was assisted by Sgt. Alan Shea.
Oct. 1, Derek P. Averill, 37, of Boothbay was arrested for violation of a protection order, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Sgt. Jason Nein.
Oct. 1, Gerald S. Anderson, 50, of Bremen was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Anderson Road, Bremen, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On Sept. 25, an accident occurred at the parking lot of Shaw’s Wharf in Bristol involving Kathleen E. Cone, 58, of Waterville and Pamela White, 65, of Chesapeake Beach, Md. Cone’s 2004 Toyota Camry was parked and a passenger in her vehicle opened the door as White’s 2012 Toyota Corolla was driving by to park and contact was made. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 26, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Casey O. Palmer, 20, of Edgecomb. Palmer drifted into the soft right hand shoulder and struck a small log and a ledge with his 2001 Toyota Corolla. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 1, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Ruth E. Gilbert, 62, of Alna and Brian C. Curtis, 29, of Palermo. Gilbert was stopped in her 2006 Honda Element at the Cross Road/Rt. 218 intersection. Curtis was operating his 2002 GMC Sierra northbound on Rt. 218. Gilbert failed to see Curtis approaching and entered the intersection into the path of his vehicle. Curtis attempted to avoid Gilbert’s vehicle by braking and steering left, however, both vehicles collided and Gilbert’s vehicle entered the embankment, struck a rock wall and came to rest. Curtis’ vehicle rotated counter clockwise and came to rest. Sgt. Jason Nein was the investigating officer.

Sept. 24, Ashlee Hartford, 19, of Nobleboro, speeding, 44 mph in a posted 25 mph speed zone, Academy Hill Rd., Newcastle, Dep. Kevin Dennison.
Sept. 24, Cheryl Dunfee, 40, of Jefferson, speeding, 64 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone – Gardiner Rd., Whitefield, Dep. Kevin Dennison.
Sept. 26, Chad Cloutier, 40, of Rockland, speeding, 72 mph in a posted 55 mph speed zone, Rt. 1, Nobleboro, Dep. Mark Bridgham.
Sept. 27, Stephanie Miller, 40, of Boothbay Harbor, speeding 59 mph in a posted 35 mph speed zone, Gardiner Rd., Dresden, Maj. Ken Mason.
