Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Dec. 24, Deputy Mark Bridgham responded to a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle in the Somerville area. The complainant stated that someone flattened two tires of his older model Mazda. The value of replacement tires is approximately $100. Further investigation to follow if any leads develop.
On Dec. 28, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a burglary to a seasonal residence in the Nobleboro area. The caretaker of the property stated that sometime during the late evening hours of Dec. 27 or early morning hours of Dec. 28, someone(s) made entry into the residence and stole a Remington pump action rifle (value: $1500), a German Mauser single shot rifle (value: $500) and a Daisy – model 717 air pistol (value: $100). Further investigation to follow.
Dec. 26, Arthur G. Cary, 39, of Palermo was issued a summons for operating vehicle without a license, on Academy Hill, Newcastle, by Deputy Brian Collamore.
Dec. 30, Matthew A. Plummer, 29, of South Bristol was arrested on a warrant out of Knox County for failure to pay fine or fee, on Rt. 129, South Bristol, by Deputy Matthew Day.
On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Julie H. Crider, 46, of Bristol. Crider was operating her 2008 Kia Sportage southbound and due to ice and slush on the roadway, she lost control of her vehicle. As a result, her vehicle crossed the center line and went off the roadway on the northbound side. Her vehicle then went backwards down an embankment. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Bog Road in Dresden involving Kirsten M. Crosson, 19, of Dresden. Crosson was operating her 2005 Subaru Forester westbound when her vehicle left the roadway due to snow covering the road and traveling too fast for the conditions. As a result, her vehicle struck a utility pole and spun counter clockwise coming to rest on the south side of the roadway facing east. Lt. Michael Murphy was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Rt. 129 in South Bristol involving Nicholas A. Wright, 18, of South Bristol. Wright was operating his 2006 Chrysler Pacifica eastbound and due to ice and slush on the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road and into a ditch. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Harrington Road in Bristol involving Jared M. Pendleton, 46, of Bristol. Pendleton was operating his 2001 Chevrolet 1500 eastbound and due to ice and slush in the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road and struck a tree. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 29, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Jennifer Long, 26, of Boothbay. Long was operating her 1992 Toyota Camry northbound when her vehicle slid off the snow covered road and into a ditch. Long sustained injuries to her face when the airbag deployed. Deputy Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On Dec. 29, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Casey O. Palmer, 20, of Jefferson. Palmer was operating his 2003 Mercury Sable southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch and came to rest in a small stream. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
