Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On June 27, David Austin, 46, of Auburn was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fine at Two Bridges Jail, by Deputy Brian Collamore.
On June 26, Detective Scott Hayden received a report of theft of cash from a resident on Muscongus Road in Bremen. The complainant stated that they had been away for several months and upon returning home, money that they had saved was missing. Investigation will continue as any new leads come forth.
On June 30, Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner received a report of theft of bikes from Shore Hills Campground in Boothbay. The complainant stated that sometime between June 28 and 29, three bicycles were stolen from a tent. Investigation will continue as any new leads come forth.
On June 26, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Christopher Chickering, 21, of Bristol. Chickering was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado north on Bristol Road when a deer entered the roadway and struck the driver’s side door. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On June 26, an accident occurred on Main Street in Newcastle involving Spencer Wiersma, 58, of Perry, Ohio who was operating a 2003 Honda, and Mark Potter, 59, of Newcastle who was operating a 2008 Kia Rondo. Potter was traveling north and Wiersma was traveling south when Potter failed to yield the right of way and struck Wiersma’s vehicle. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer
On June 28, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Whitefield involving Joshua Lynch, 39, of Pittston, and Lindsey Kincaid, 26, of Damascus, Va. Lynch was operating a 2000 Dodge Stratus, following Kincaid’s vehicle. Kincaid was operating a 2007 Honda Fit and slowed to turn into a driveway. Lynch passed Kincaid on a double yellow line and collided with Kincaid’s vehicle. Deputy Jeremy Joslyn was the investigating officer.
On June 30, an accident occurred on West Neck Road in Nobleboro involving Alfred Scheffler, 26, of Jefferson. Scheffler was operating a 2009 Subaru Forester and was traveling south on West Neck Road. As he rounded a bend in the road, Scheffler crossed the center line and left the roadway and struck some rocks and trees. Detective Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
On July 1, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Shawn Brennan, 56, of Manchester. Brennan was operating a 2001 Sterling tractor trailer and was traveling north on the Wiscasset Road. Brennan’s right side tires entered the northbound shoulder and the operator steered left and lost control. The vehicle crossed the southbound travel lane and entered the shoulder/embankment, then struck a culvert and driveway, becoming jackknifed. Sergeant Jason Nein was the investigating officer.
