Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Aug. 6, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of criminal mischief to mailboxes in the Whitefield area. One complainant stated she noticed her mailbox was knocked off its post and as Deputy Gilbert rode around the area, he noticed where two other mailboxes were pulled out of the ground. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.
On Aug. 8, Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner was dispatched to a report of stolen firewood, valued at approximately $200, from the Nobleboro area. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.
On Aug. 11, Reserve Deputy Neil Genthner was dispatched to a report of a stolen I Phone 4 in the Bristol area. The complainant stated that he placed his new phone on a shelf at his place of employment and when he went to get it later, it was missing. The phone is valued at approximately $699. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.
Aug. 8, a 16-year-old male juvenile from Damariscotta was issued summonses for illegal possession of Schedule X Drug and illegal transportation of drugs by a minor, on Biscay Road, Damariscotta, by Deputy Aaron Beck.
Aug. 10, Thomas A. True, 19, of Wiscasset was issued a summons for minor consuming liquor, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Aaron Beck.
Aug. 8, Robert E. Sykes, 39, of Waldoboro was arrested on a Wiscasset District Court warrant for failure to appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read.
Aug. 8, Jason R. Schlander, 31, of Bristol was arrested for operating under the influence, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward.
Aug. 8, Daniel N. Reusch Jr., 18, of Richmond was arrested for visual sexual aggression against a child, on Harris Lane, Richmond, by Det. Scott Hayden.
Aug. 10, Mason G. Bennett-Nein, 22, of Westport Island was arrested for operating under the influence, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Aaron Beck.
Aug. 11, Jeremy R. Gardner, 52, of Wiscasset was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Gibbs Road, Wiscasset, by Det. Scott Hayden, who was assisted by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
On Aug. 6, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Adam G. Pinkham, 30, of Boothbay. Pinkham was operating his 1995 GMC 1500 pickup when he fell asleep and drifted into the northbound ditch and struck a telephone pole. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 7, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Kevin D. Rogers, 39, of Edgecomb. Rogers was operating his 1997 Kawasaki ZX6R motorcycle southbound when he began to adjust his idle on the motorcycle and looked down. When he looked back up, he was in the soft shoulder off the roadway and was unable to control his motorcycle and rolled it onto its side, just off the roadway on the grassy shoulder. Deputy Matthew Day was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 8, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Eugene G. Ardito, 54, of Portland and Roslynn M. Landry, 52, of Hollis. Landry was stopped in traffic in her 2000 Nissan Sentra, heading southbound. Ardito was traveling behind Landry in his 2007 Toyota Avalon and did not stop in time and struck the rear of Landry’s vehicle. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 9, an accident occurred on Cape Newagen Road in Southport involving Paul D. Golden, 41, of Waldoboro. Golden was operating his 2010 Ford F150 pickup eastbound and he traveled too far to the right and went off the roadway, causing damage to the passenger tire and wheel, as well as the front bumper. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 9, an accident occurred on Benner Road in Bristol involving Melissa L. Simmons, 49, of Bremen and Martin E. Leeman, 43, of Bristol. Simmons was traveling westbound in her 2005 Dodge Durango and was rounding a sharp corner. Leeman was traveling eastbound in his 2001 Dodge and was rounding the same sharp corner and both vehicles collided with each other due to the roadway being narrow. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 10, an accident occurred on Bristol Road involving Joan Grant, 73, of Bristol and Lawrence B. Sidelinger, 52, of Bristol. Grant, who was operating her 1990 Subaru Legacy, was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Lower Round Pond Road and State Route 130. She started and began to make a left hand turn onto Route 130 and she failed to see Sidelinger’s 1993 Plymouth Acclaim and pulled out in front of him, causing him to hit her vehicle in the driver door area. On Aug. 10, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Linda M. Roberts, 64, of Agawam, Mass. Roberts was operating her 2003 Toyota Tundra pickup truck southbound and was lost. While searching, she left the roadway and traveled out through a grove of trees. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 11, an accident occurred on Grand Army Road in Whitefield involving Emily E. Hebert, 21, of Windham. Hebert was operating her 2001 Nissan Sentra northbound and was approaching a sharp corner. Due to speed and the sun blinding Hebert, she lost control of her vehicle and traveled across the center line, where she then went off the left side of the roadway and struck a brick building. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 12, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving John S. Leonard, 59, of Pownal. Leonard was operating his 2013 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck southbound when he stated he fell asleep and woke up to his truck coming back onto the roadway from the right shoulder. His vehicle struck a culvert and dirt while off the road, causing front bumper and passenger’s side damage to his vehicle. Reserve Deputy Mark Doe was the investigating officer.
