Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Oct. 29, Deputy Chad Gilbert received a complaint of a theft of change (approximately $8) from a motor vehicle in the Jefferson area.
On Oct. 30, Deputy Matthew Day took a report of criminal mischief to a mailbox post (value $75) in the Jefferson area. Further investigation if leads develop.
Oct. 30, Daniel R. Roy, 27, of Augusta, was issued summonses for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer (times six) and violating condition of release, on Rockland Road, Jefferson, by Det. Scott Hayden.
Tara L. Curtis, 22, of Boothbay, was arrested for trafficking in prison contraband, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.
Melanie L. Major, 50, of Milford, Del., was arrested for trafficking in prison contraband, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.
Nathan B. Chesebro, 36, of Bristol, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward, who was assisted by Sgt. Alan Shea.
Oct. 30, Nicholas Rudolph, 19, of Augusta, was arrested on a Kennebec County District Court warrant for failure to appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read.
Kevin J. Horan, 30, of Wiscasset, was arrested on a probation violation, on Rumerill Road, Wiscasset, by Det. Terry Michaud.
Jason E. Wotton, 40, of Friendship was arrested for operating under the influence – one prior, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Chad Gilbert, who was assisted by Lt. Rand Maker.
Oct. 31, Herman N. Wright, IV, 28, of Edgecomb, was arrested for operating under the influence, on Rt. 1, Edgecomb, by Deputy Kenneth Hatch.
Michael A. Sigler, 18, of Bristol, was arrested for theft by unauthorized use of property, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Brian Collamore.
Travis M. Chapman, 40, of Edgecomb, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.
On Oct. 30, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Nobleboro involving Darrell Winchenbach, 59, of Waldoboro. Winchenbach was operating his 2011 Ford Mustang southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck the front driver’s side of his vehicle. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 30, an accident occurred on South Hunt’s Meadow Road in Whitefield involving Megan E. Barton, 21, of Whitefield. Barton was operating her 2012 Hyundai Elantra eastbound when she became distracted and ran off the roadway, causing damage to her vehicle. Deputy Todd Chilton was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Newcastle involving Gary A. Vannah, 48, of Jefferson. Vannah was operating his 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Eugene Damon, 84, of Boothbay Harbor. Damon was operating his 2008 Jeep northbound when he lost control of his vehicle, drove off the roadway and struck a utility pole. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Cross Point Road in Edgecomb involving Cherish L. Hartwick, 21, of Alna. Hartwick was operating her 2002 Ford Windstar northbound when she stated that she pulled to the right to avoid oncoming traffic in her lane when her vehicle left the roadway and struck some small bushes and trees. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on River Road in Boothbay involving Ashleigh P. Mcelman, 26, of Woolwich and Jeannie M. Lewis, 47, of Boothbay. Mcelman’s 2012 Subaru Impreza and Lewis’ 1994 Dodge Shadow were both traveling southbound. Lewis slowed as she approached the intersection of Wiscasset and River roads and started to make a left turn onto River Road. Mcelman started to pass Lewis’ vehicle on the left side at the intersection and Lewis turned into the left rear quarter of Mcelman’s vehicle. Det. Robert McFetridge was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Edgecomb involving Herman N. Wright, IV, 28, of Edgecomb; Kelly A. Pelletier, 33, of Portland, and Blaise R. Botti, 67, of Richmond. Wright was traveling northbound in his 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck following behind Botti’s 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe when he struck the rear of Botti’s vehicle. Wright then left the right side of the roadway and re-entered, crossed the center line and struck Pelletier’s 2007 Toyota Yaris head on. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Academy Hill Road in Newcastle involving Christian J. Stebner, 17, of Nobleboro. Stebner was operating his 2004 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck northbound on Academy Hill and was traveling too fast for the conditions. As a result, he failed to negotiate a turn and left the roadway on the left side and struck a tree and a rock before over turning his vehicle and coming to rest on its roof. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Oct. 31, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Road in Boothbay involving Walter E. Manter, 74, of East Boothbay. Manter was operating his 2004 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck northbound when an unknown black or dark blue car, which was traveling south, struck a guardrail and crossed the center line into the travel lane of Manter’s vehicle, and struck it. The unknown vehicle left the scene. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Nov. 2, an accident occurred on Rt. 218 in Whitefield involving Merton E. Campbell, 42, of Alna. Campbell was operating his 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier when two deer entered the roadway and struck his vehicle. Reserve Deputy Richard Woodward was the investigating officer.
