Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On July 30, Deputy Chad Gilbert responded to a report of a theft of an L.L. Bean tote bag from Damariscotta Lake Park in Jefferson. The complainant stated that she went in for a swim and when she returned, her tote bag was missing. Further investigation to follow if leads develop.
On July 31, Deputy Kevin Dennison was dispatched to a complaint of a theft of Harley Davidson parts from a camper in the Nobleboro area. The complainant stated that sometime in April or May, the items had been stolen from his camper. Further investigation to follow if any new leads arise.
On July 31, Deputy Mark Bridgham took a report of criminal mischief to numerous mailboxes in the Somerville area. Sometime between 2 and 9 a.m. July 31, multiple mailboxes were damaged.
On July 31, Deputy Kenneth Hatch took a report of a theft of returnable bottles from a business in the Boothbay area. The complainant stated that this has been an ongoing problem. Further investigation to follow.
On July 31, Deputy Justin Drake was dispatched to a report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the Whitefield area. The complainant stated that the vehicle was last used approximately one week ago, so he was unsure when it might have been taken. Further investigation to continue as new leads develop.
Aug. 5, Nikolas A. Poland, 23, of Bristol, was issued a summons for operating after suspension, on Muscongus Road, Bremen, by Deputy Jared Mitkus.
July 30, Christopher A. Hagar, 49, of Bristol, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Center Street, Nobleboro, by Deputy Hatch.
July 30, Jason Perkins, 29, of Jefferson, was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Olsen Lane, Jefferson, by Deputy Hatch, who was assisted by Detective Robert McFetridge.
July 30, Tucker J. Lewis, 20, of Edgecomb, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Old County Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Mitkus, who was assisted by Deputy Aaron Beck.
Aug. 1, Kenneth B. Flower, 38, of South Bristol, was arrested for violating condition of release on Atlantic Highway, Waldoboro, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
Aug. 1, Amanda L. Rainville, 26, of West Rockport, was arrested for violating condition of release, on Atlantic Highway, Waldoboro, by Deputy Bridgham.
Aug. 2, William D. Nagy, 25, of Augusta, was arrested for operating under the influence, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Bridgham.
Aug. 3, Joseph A. Benner, 33, of Bristol, was arrested for domestic violence assault, domestic violence terrorizing, aggravated criminal mischief, and eluding an officer, on Austin Street, Bristol, by Deputy Chubbuck, who was assisted by Deputy Jared Mitkus.
Aug. 4, Jesse Bagley, 25, of Newcastle, was arrested for operating after license suspension, violating condition of release, and failure to appear in court, on Bristol Road, Damariscotta, by Sgt. Matthew Day.
On July 31, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Jessica J. Buzzell, 33, of Jefferson. Buzzell was operating her 1998 Honda Accord northbound when her vehicle experienced a mechanical malfunction resulting in the left front wheel separating from the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle swerved to the right, left the roadway and struck an embankment before coming to rest. Deputy Drake was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 1, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Devon B. Gordon, 20, of Rockport, and Susan L. Mendleson, 51, of Washington. Mendleson was operating her 1987 Porsche 911 southbound and was just beginning a left hand turn onto Snead Spur. Gordon was also operating his 2008 Subaru Impreza southbound and failed to observe Mendleson’s vehicle had slowed and was beginning its turn. As a result, Gordon’s vehicle struck Mendleson’s vehicle in the rear. Lt. Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 1, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving John E. Andretta, 25, of Wiscasset, and John L. Maurizi, 76, of Wiscasset. Maurizi was operating his 2011 Subaru Outback northbound and was slowing down and preparing to turn left onto Mill Road. Andretta was following Maurizi in his 2013 Subaru Impreza and could not stop in time and struck Maurizi’s vehicle in the rear. Deputy Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 1, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Brandon A. Brochu, 19, of Windsor, and Jonathan P. Sawyer, 44, of Jefferson. Sawyer backed his 2003 Ford F-150 out of a parking area, across the roadway and struck Brochu’s 2007 Saturn, which was unoccupied and parked off to the side of the road. Deputy Dennison was the investigating officer.
