Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Aug. 26, Deputy Brian Collamore was dispatched to a burglary/theft to a business in the Jefferson area. Deputy Collamore was assisted at the scene by Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins. Further investigation to follow.
On Aug. 26, Deputy Kevin Dennison responded to a report of criminal mischief in the South Bristol area. The complainant stated that sometime the previous night, someone drove on her lawn and spun their tires, damaging a section of her lawn.
On Aug. 27, Sgt. Brendan Kane took a report of a theft of a Yamaha dirt bike (value: $650) stolen from a residence in the Somerville area. The complainant stated that sometime between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., Aug. 27, someone(s) stole the bike. Further investigation as leads develop.
Aug. 26, Nicholas Hodgdon, 20, of Boothbay was arrested for violating condition of release, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Transport Deputy James Read.
Aug. 29, Theodore E. Poland, 46, of Nobleboro was arrested for aggravated assault, on Homestead Lane, Nobleboro, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.
Aug. 31, Christopher A. Deniger, 22, of Westport Island was arrested for criminal trespass and violating condition of release (x3), on Beath Road, Boothbay, by Det. Scott Hayden.
Aug. 31, Jacob D. Kaler, 35, of Boothbay Harbor was arrested for operating under the influence, on Back Narrows Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jared Mitkus.
Aug. 31, Jason D. Pearce, 28, of Boothbay was arrested for domestic violence criminal mischief and criminal threatening w/dangerous weapon, on Kelly Brook Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Sgt. Brendan Kane.
Sept. 1, Emily Fauver, 26, of Nobleboro was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Back Meadow Road, Nobleboro, by Deputy Jared Mitkus.
Sept. 1, Megan I. Stevens, 27, of Portland was arrested for operating under the influence, on Beath Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Boothbay Harbor Officer Fred Hutchings. Stevens was also issued a citation for not having vehicle insurance.
On Aug. 26, an accident occurred on Route 129 in South Bristol involving Dylan A. Herald, 21, of Damariscotta. Herald was operating a 2000 Chevrolet when he entered the shoulder, lost control of his vehicle and entered the southbound ditch. As a result, he struck a telephone pole and came to rest in the southbound ditch. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 26, an accident occurred on Lewis Hill Road in Newcastle involving James E. McGhee, 50, of Newcastle, and Michael Brown, 59, of Danville, Va. McGhee was operating his 2010 Toyota Prius northbound and, as he approached the intersection of Lewis Hill Road, he slowed to turn left onto that road. As McGhee started to turn, Brown struck him in the rear with his 2012 Mack tractor trailer. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 27, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Charlyn F. Foster, 36, of Bristol, and Sara A. Larson, 33, of Bremen. Foster was at the entrance of Mike’s Place in her 2006 Chrysler Town and Country and waiting to turn north onto Route 1. Larson was operating her 2004 Subaru Legacy southbound on Route 1. A vehicle, which was traveling in front of Larson’s vehicle, turned into Mike’s Place and Foster entered Route 1 and turned north. As a result, Larson’s vehicle struck the front driver’s side of Foster’s vehicle when it crossed the southbound lane. Larson’s vehicle came to rest over the embankment on the east side of the road and Foster’s vehicle came to rest after coasting towards Mike’s Place and hitting the building. Deputy Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 30, an accident occurred on Shore Road in Bremen involving Richard A. Taylor, 68, of Bremen, and Bonita M. Johnson, 60, of Bremen. Taylor was making a right turn in his 2003 Dodge Dakota out of a driveway and struck Johnson’s 2009 Kia Sportage, which was parked on the roadside. Deputy Jared Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On Aug. 31, an accident occurred on Back Narrows Road in Boothbay involving Jacob D. Kaler, 35, of Boothbay Harbor. Kaler was operating his 2011 Subaru Outback southbound when his vehicle crossed the roadway, collided with a guardrail, spun 180 degrees, coming to rest onto a deck at a residence. Deputy Jared Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 1, an accident occurred on Beath Road in Boothbay involving Megan I. Stevens, 27, of Portland. Stevens was operating her 2008 Ford Escape northbound when she went off the roadway on the right side of the road after a sharp turn. As a result, her vehicle then slid down over an embankment. Deputy Jared Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 1, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Mary-Ruth B. Nelson, 83, of Westport Island and Michelle B. Phelps, 43, of Edgecomb. Nelson was approaching the yield sign in her 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, at the entrance ramp to Route 1 and was attempting to merge with southbound traffic. Phelps was traveling behind Nelson in her 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Due to traffic on Route 1, Nelson stopped suddenly and Phelps struck her vehicle in the rear. Sgt. Daniel Sceviour was the investigating officer.
