Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On Sept. 24, Deputy Chad Gilbert took a report of a burglary/theft of a Husqvarna 266 chain saw (value: $450) and a Home Lite weed wacker (value: $300) from a shed in the Somerville area. The complainant stated that it happened sometime within the last two weeks. Further investigation to follow pending new leads.
On Sept. 28, Deputy Ryan Chubbuck took a report of a lost outboard motor somewhere between Dresden and Richmond. The complainant stated he was towing his boat from the town landing in Richmond to Dresden when he noticed his 25 hp Evinrude (white and silver in color and valued at approximately $100) was missing from his boat. He back tracked, but was unable to locate it.
Sept. 27, Tyler A. Griffin, 24, of Bristol was arrested for domestic violence assault, on Pemaquid Villas Road, Bristol, by Deputy Justin Drake.
Sept. 29, Russell W. Golden, 47, of Wiscasset was arrested for violating condition of release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Det. Robert McFetridge.
On Sept. 25, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Margaret A. Sproul, 51, of Newcastle and Henry G. Nichols, 19, of Pownal. Nichols had stopped his 2006 Volvo 70 wagon in traffic to make a left turn. Sproul failed to see Nichols had stopped and struck the rear of his vehicle with her 2012 Dodge Ram and then skidded into a guardrail. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 26, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Gordon Blank, 95, of Bristol and Bennett M. Brooks, 62, of Pompano Beach, Fla. Blank was operating his 1998 Chevrolet Blazer southbound on Route 130. Brooks was stopped at the intersection of Route 130 to make a left turn onto Route 32. Blank applied the gas instead of the brake and collided with Brooks’ 2011 Jeep. Deputy Jared Mitkus was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 27, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Garrett S. Holt, 23, of Windsor. Holt was operating his 2006 Dodge Ram, following the roadway, when a deer ran out of the woods and collided with the vehicle. Holt tried to avoid it, but couldn’t and as a result, the deer hit the passenger side door. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 27, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Tristan F. Plumb, 26, of Nobleboro. Plumb was operating his 2014 Nissan southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and struck his vehicle. Deputy Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 27, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Larry P. Gahagan, 67, of Friendship. Gahagan was operating his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Route 27. At the intersection of the Country Club Road, a white mid-sized sedan failed to give the right of way to the motorcycle. As the unknown vehicle cut in front of the motorcycle, Gahagan swerved to avoid this vehicle and as a result, laid his motorcycle on its side. Both riders on his bike struck the ground. The unknown vehicle did not stop. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Sept. 28, an accident occurred on Upper East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Christopher I. Johnston, 42, of Nobleboro and Stacy E. McFarland, 19, of Newcastle. McFarland was operating her 2003 Mazda 6 eastbound and Johnston was attempting to make a left turn out of a driveway in his 2001 Saab 9-5. Johnston advised he looked both ways, but did not see McFarland’s vehicle. As a result, both vehicles collided. Det. Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.
