Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
Jan. 27, Douglas Churchill, 31, of Bristol, was arrested on a Waterville District Court warrant, on Bay Woods Road, Bristol, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.
Jan. 27, Dwayne B. Bates, 25, of Windsor, was arrested for violation of a protection order and violating condition of release, on Dirigo Road, China, by the Maine State Police on behalf of Deputy Mark Bridgham. Bates was turned over to Deputy Bridgham at the Dresden town line and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail.
Feb. 1, Nicholas Hodgdon, 20, of Boothbay, was arrested for sale and use of drug paraphernalia and violating condition of release, on Country Club Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Aaron Beck.
Feb. 1, Max C. Noble, 27, of Oxford, was arrested on four warrants for failure to pay fines, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Reserve Deputy Joel Seekins.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Douglas Richards, 61, of Whitefield. Richards was operating his 2008 Ford Focus southbound on Route 215 when a deer entered the roadway from a wooded area and was struck. Sgt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 26, an accident occurred on East River Road in Whitefield involving Charles E. Ripley, 21, of Albion. Ripley was operating his 2007 Mazda southbound on the Heath Road. When he came to the intersection of Heath Road and Route 218, he slid on the snow covered road, went through the intersection and into a utility pole. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 28, an accident occurred on N. Dyer Neck Road in Newcastle involving Sean M. Williams, 36, of Damariscotta. Williams was operating his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado westbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow covered roadway. As a result, his vehicle slid off the roadway on the left side and struck a tree. Deputy Kenneth Hatch was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 29, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Somerville involving James Mansir, 63, of Augusta. Mansir was operating his 1999 Honda Civic eastbound when he moved his vehicle to the shoulder to avoid an unknown westbound vehicle in his travel lane. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway and rolled over onto its roof. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving Alan L Beaucage, 38, of Alna. Beaucage was operating his 2006 Ford pickup truck when he attempted to negotiate the corner and lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle entered the ditch and struck a telephone pole. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on Egypt Road in Alna involving Parker D. Long, 27, of Southport Island. Long was operating his 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when he moved over to the right for a passing plow truck. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 31, an accident occurred on Center Street in Nobleboro involving Laurence C. Keith, 58, of Nobleboro and William F. McLaughlin, 73, of Bremen. Keith was operating his 2006 Dodge 1500 eastbound on Transfer Station Road and McLaughlin was operating his 2004 Ford F250 southbound on Center Street. Keith stopped at the stop sign and made a left turn onto Center Street into the path of McLaughlin’s vehicle. Keith stated he believed McLaughlin was going to make a right hand turn into Transfer Station Road. Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 31, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Timothy A. Merrill, 48, of Edgecomb and Jennifer Hodgdon-Gaudette, 53, of Southport Island. Merrill was operating his 1997 GMC 1500 eastbound when he signaled, slowed, and then stopped in the roadway, awaiting oncoming westbound traffic to pass, in order to make a left turn into a private driveway. Hodgdon-Gaudette was operating her 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound behind Merrill’s vehicle, when she stated she failed to notice Merrill’s vehicle was stopped in traffic and struck it from behind. Reserve Deputy Mark Walsh was the investigating officer.
On Feb. 1, an accident occurred on Benner Road in Bristol involving Edward M. Lewis, 74, of Bristol and Zachary R. Geyer, 30, of Damariscotta. Geyer was operating his 2005 Toyota 4Runner northbound and crested a hill when Lewis, who was operating his 2000 Chevrolet 1500, was in the roadway reversing while snow plowing. Geyer braked on the snow covered roadway and swerved left to avoid Lewis’ vehicle when Geyer’s right rear bumper made contact with the right rear panel and rear bumper of Lewis’ vehicle and went off the roadway.
