On Tues., Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Jean Picker Room of the Camden Public Library, Keith Carver and Karl Gerstenberger will host a reception and talk to introduce the opening of a month-long exhibition of their bird photographs.
Don Reimer, well known writer, speaker, and author, will offer his reflections on birding and photography.
Reimer introduced Carver and Gerstenberger to each other at Weskeag Marsh three years ago. Since then the two have traveled extensively in the U.S. and Eastern Canada pursuing, finding, and photographing a myriad of interesting and colorful birds. They are anxious to share the results of their work and invite everyone to the opening of their exhibit.
Carver lives on Damariscotta Lake during the summer. Gerstenberger is a year-round resident of Lincolnville.
The photographs will be on display throughout the month of September. All are matted and framed and are available for purchase.
In conjunction with this show, the Mid-Coast Chapter of the Audubon Society will be hosting a talk in the Jean Picker Room with naturalist Mike Shannon on “Habitats” on Thurs., Sept. 13, at 7 p.m.
