Below are local closings of public interest. Please see WCSH 6 for additional closings and delays, including any school closings.
Transportation
Concord Coach Lines has canceled service to Lincoln County for Jan. 27, including service to Portland and Boston. Service for Lincoln County on Wednesday has not been canceled, but is “subject to change if weather conditions worsen,” according to the Concord website.
Portland International Jetport has canceled all departures for Jan. 27.
Amtrak Downeaster has canceled all trains for Jan. 27, with an anticipation of return to normal service Jan. 28.
Medical
| All Lincoln Medical Partners Practices will be closed Tuesday due to safety concerns as a result of the winter storm.
Affected practices include: Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine Damariscotta, Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine Waldoboro, Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine Wiscasset, Lincoln Medical Partners Family Care Center in Boothbay Harbor, Lincoln Medical Partners Pediatrics in Boothbay Harbor and Damariscotta, Lincoln Medical Partners Orthopaedics, Lincoln Medical Partners General Surgery and the Lincoln Medical Partners Women’s Center. There will be no scheduled outpatient visits at LincolnHealth facilities either in Boothbay Harbor or Damariscotta, including elective surgeries, laboratory appointments and physical, occupational and other therapies. All missed appointments will be rescheduled as quickly as possible. If patients need to speak with their provider on Jan. 27, they are encouraged to call their provider’s office and leave their information with the answering service. |
Bremen
The Bremen Budget Committee meeting scheduled for Jan. 27 has been rescheduled for Feb. 3 at 6:45 p.m.
Damariscotta
The Damariscotta Town Office will be closed Jan. 27.
Jefferson
The Jefferson Board of Selectmen have postponed their Jan. 26 meeting due to illness. The meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. (Note: The Jefferson School Committee, scheduled to meet with the selectmen at their meeting, are still meeting on their own at 5:30 p.m. at Jefferson Village School. The selectmen will instead attend the school committee’s Feb. 2 meeting, according to Town Clerk Lynne Barnikow.)
Newcastle
The Newcastle Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Jan. 26 has been canceled for lack of a quorum.
The Newcastle Town Office will be closed Jan. 27.
Waldoboro
The Waldoboro Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Jan. 27 has been canceled.
Whitefield
The Waldoboro Board of Selectmen’s meeting scheduled for Jan. 27 has been moved up to 5 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the fire station on Townhouse Road.
The Waldoboro Town Office and Waldoboro Transfer Station will be closed Jan. 27 due to the weather.
