The Edgecomb company Ocean Point Furniture with Margonelli Designs has purchased the Gilbert E. Gay building, one of the historic brick buildings in downtown Damariscotta.
Eileen Miller, who owns the company with her husband, Dan Miller, confirmed the purchase May 17.
The company plans to move the furniture business, currently at 780 River Rd. in Edgecomb, to the Damariscotta building. Other plans are still forming, Eileen Miller said.
The property also includes another small building, the longtime home of Bruce Soule’s barbershop. The Millers have no immediate plans for that building. “We respect his tradition there,” Eileen Miller said.
The Millers also own Ocean Point Marina in East Boothbay.
Gilbert E. Gay Building L.L.P. previously owned both of the Damariscotta buildings.
