A dozen Marines gathered at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post #42 Nov. 10 to mark the 236th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Ralph Eugley Jr., of Bremen, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and his son, Victor Eugley, were the oldest and youngest Marines at the event.
“A good time was had by all,” Mary Jane McLoon of the American Legion Auxiliary said.
McLoon invites all Marines to mark their calendar for the 237th birthday, on Nov. 10, 2012, and encourages the families of active duty veterans from any branch to contact the post.
The post would like to be able to send packages to local troops serving overseas and post their photographs at the legion hall.
