At the Damariscotta Baptist Church, steeple restoration workers, with help from a huge crane, carefully lift the huge pre-cut timbers as they assemble the frame for the clock box on which the refurbished steeple will sit. Discounting gravity, an 80 foot tall crane, and possible danger to workers, the process is much like a child assembling a cabin out of “Lincoln Logs.”
