Local volunteers will perform community service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 19. Anyone interested in assistance should contact Joann Kaplan at 882-6546 or Robert Breckenridge at 563-8624 to arrange further details.
Every year, the Baha’is of Lincoln County join Lincoln Academy’s Alpha Sigma Gamma service fraternity and Sigma Sigma Chi service sorority to observe the day with community service.
This year, the Interact Club of Lincoln Academy and The Second Congregational Church in Newcastle will join the effort.
The volunteers are ready and willing to perform tasks including shoveling, de-icing, roof raking, running errands, transportation, computer support, house cleaning, animal care, moving, or other non-dangerous household jobs.
