A Waldoboro resident walked free after a tree had landed in his lap while working in the woods off Lone Wolf Drive, said town officials. According to Darryl McKenney, town assessor’s agent who assists the fire department, Chuck Flint was on a tractor when the tree fell on him and landed in his lap.
McKenney said Flint had cut a tree and was turning his tractor around when the tree fell. Fire Chief Paul Smeltzer said Flint used his cell phone to call for help. Lieutenant Mark Gifford grabbed the fire department’s chain saw and cut the guy loose with the help of local EMTs who were on hand.
“He walked away uninjured,” Smeltzer said, adding the workers managed to free Flint in minutes.
