The 2008 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Damariscotta was a huge success, bringing in (and announced at the event) the preliminary amount of $120,000.
Melissa Cushman with the American Cancer Society said the 11-year total for the Damariscotta walk has exceeded the $1 million dollar goal, and this year more than 900 people walked, and 67 breast cancer survivors took part in the survivors’ ceremony.
“It’s incredible what the event chairman Carol Wise has accomplished,” said Cushman.
