The Maine Coast Book Shop Café is now serving five mouth-watering flavors of Artisan Gelato.
Waldoboro resident Peter Robbins makes the all-natural dessert – also available as an appetizer or main course – at the Bohemian Coffee House in Brunswick.
The café is currently serving blood orange, bo-ho coffee, chocolate, cookies ‘n’ cream and fat-free, dairy-free, one-third fruit pineapple sorbet.
The flavors will rotate on a regular basis. Robbins and the Bohemian Coffee House offer 100-plus varieties.
The café hopes to eventually offer a sugar-free flavor in response to requests from customers, manager Ann Dearborn said. Gelato (Italian for “frozen”) naturally contains less than seven percent fat.
The café sells three serving sizes, starting at $3.50, as well as pints ($7).
