Thirty-two voters from Bremen, Damariscotta and Newcastle passed the Great Salt Bay Community School’s $4.9 million 2011-2012 budget at the Great Salt Bay Consolidated School District’s annual budget meeting May 17.
The budget includes an increase of nearly $200,000, or 4.2 percent.
After a brief technical delay, the approximately 30-minute meeting continued without noticeable debate or dissent.
Each town must follow up with a budget validation referendum. Damariscotta and Newcastle will include the referendum on their annual town meeting ballots. Bremen will go to the polls Tues., June 14 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the town office.
Great Salt Bay School Committee Chair Carole Brinkler invited those in attendance to celebrate the career of retiring Central Lincoln County School System Supt. Robert Bouchard from 2-5 p.m. on Sat., May 21 at the Anchor Inn in Round Pond.
