The annual Memorial Day parade is on Mon., May 30. Line-up for the parade is at 8:30 a.m. and the parade starts at 9 a.m. at the Waldoboro Town Office. The parade will cross Rt. 1 and proceed down Jefferson Street, then turn down Old Rt. 1. The parade will stop at the town’s two monuments, including at the old customs house (old post office/old library) and the memorial by Medomak Terrace.
Developed from research by Pat Parks and Arthur “Buzzy” Gould, readings will center on the Civil War, including life in Whitefield in the 1860s, local men who signed up to serve, and a list of 16 casualties from the town.
Violinists Alex and Sarah Smith will provide period music. There will be refreshments.
