Midnight Oil, a full service fuel and energy supply company based in Newcastle, is changing its name effective May 1 to Midnight Energy.
The new name better reflects the company’s shift from its origins as a traditional fuel-focused business to a company offering a wide range of heating and energy solutions with an eye on the long-term view of the energy market in Maine. The company has been in business since 2002.
This name change does not reflect a sudden shift in policy or services. In fact, back in 2008 the company became the first liquid fuel distribution company in Maine to offer full-service geothermal installation and sales statewide. They have had four years of successful installations in homes from Bristol, Maine to Massachusetts.
Midnight Energy’s innovative commitment to renewable energy is evident in its own facility, requiring no fuel to heat or cool its buildings since 2008.
They have built an energy lab on site that allows the public to see and hear about the various options, including geothermal units with various designs.
President and co-owner of Midnight Energy, Tom Myette said, “It is important that consumers know that they can come to us to discover the best solution to heat and cool their home or business. We are nonjudgmental in their circumstances and goals, but can guide them accordingly with a range of fuel and non-fuel solutions.”
Myette said, “The goal should be to reduce dependency on commodity consumption by diminishing demand and increasing value. That can only be done by careful application of proven new technologies, well applied and installed correctly. Our goal is also to educate consumers about their choices.”
The company has also introduced a new logo and updated its website, Midnightnrg.com. Midnight Energy’s energy lab, distribution office and distribution facility are located at 632 Rt. 1 in Newcastle. Find out more at Midnightnrg.com.
