Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers rushed to the scene of a domestic dispute last Tuesday between two brothers in Damariscotta Mills and arrested and booked one of them on a charge of threatening with a dangerous weapon.
Dep. Chad Gilbert arrested James Taylor, 44, at his 9 Pond Rd. home after he had allegedly threatened his brother, John Taylor, 42, at his home located on the same property in the presence of their mother, who lives there with her son. He was booked at Two Bridges Regional Jail.
The pair had been arguing over some issue, and the situation allegedly escalated into a serious event, according to Lt. Rand Maker, who arrived on the scene with Maj. Ken Mason and three deputies in several sheriff’s department vehicles.
“Whenever we have gun calls, we take them seriously,” he said. “We don’t take any of them lightly.”
Maker said the younger brother called 9-1-1 at 12:53 p.m. while the dispute was happening, but by the time he and the other law enforcement personnel from the sheriff’s department arrived, the fight was over and the older brother James had returned to his own house where the arrest was made.
The officers remained at the Pond Road scene for about an hour and ended the investigation of the incident with the arrest.
